Case 2 is a cantilever beam of length L with a uniformly distributed load w0. This case describes the beam deflection from B to C; however, case 2 assumes that the slope of the beam at B is zero.
Since overhang BC is connected to a flexible beam (AB) rather than a rigid support, the beam will rotate at B. To find this angle, apply the moment from overhang BC to the simply supported portion of the beam and compute the deflection at C created by this rotation.
